Day Dreaming!

Well, didn't get back as quick as I thought with another card, got caught up cleaning. A very important room in the house gets way more attention than the rest of it, have spent some of my week tidying and re-arranging my craft room, things were getting a bit out of hand and needed to be sorted before I did myself an injury getting about my room! Think it's reaching bursting point lol!  Must update my craft room page with the new look before it becomes a shambles again, doesn't take much, one card and its all undone such a messy crafter, probably because I can never make my mind up what to use.

Okay, my card, first one made this year, hooray. Been practising my colouring again, had got a bit rusty since it had been six months since I had done any and this little cutie from 'All Dressed Up', turned out pretty well so she deserved to go onto a card. She's day dreaming all sorts, looking out her window and is joined by butterflies and a dragonfly.

challenges I am joining in with this week - Something New/Image/Dragonfly - Use something from your stash/Dies, embossing folders, lace pearls, copics, bling
Thank you for dropping by, much appreciate your visit.

Been awhile!

Woo hoo, finally made it back on here! Where have I been? Won't bore you with my illness, let's just say it put me in my place for awhile along with a bad back but hopefully thats now history and I can get on with life again and hopefully make crafty things again.

Haven't made anything since this card just before Christmas, was a rush job, last minute request and finished in one afternoon. Hate being put on the spot but I think I get on better having no time to dither here or there, this way or that way, which papers dies, oh the list goes on when I have the time lol! Was so pleased how this turned out.

I loved it, didn't want to give it away, really need to stop thinking that way, just hope it was well received.

Sizzix Poinsettia large die,Trimcraft Christmas papers, edges inked with TH Frayed Burlap

For the Just for you die I used papers and embossed with Frantage, loved the result. I cut three die cuts out and layered them to make it pop more.

Paper edges roughed up and torn then inked
Spellbinders die cut rectangle finished off with mocha pearls
Memory box holly flourish cut out in gold, tiny red gems added to stems.
Pearl edged lace

My card deserved a box since the Poinsettia was BIG and didn't want it getting squashed,  used linen card and followed the card theme without giving to much away, I think!

Haven't been in my craft room for over a month till today, gave it a bit of a tidy up and along with my new crafty buys, oh yes, I did manage that while layed up. Had to do something to fill my days lol!!! Just need broadband to behave now, it is so slow, at this rate we might have to go satellite yet. Need to get hubby to look into that, not holding my breath, now if it had something to do with farming he would be straight onto it!

Our sponsor for this fortnight is

I decided to go with a male card, find them challenging but get a lot of satisfaction out of the end result. I decided I wanted to make a card using the clock die and placing the snowy scene in the centre  and at that point hadn't come up with the old fashion clock idea, just happened as I went along lol! Was rummaging through card blanks and came across this shaped one and it just clicked. Had great fun creating this.

I hope you find time to join us.

Autumn Colours

A new challenge starting today over on As You Like It and this time round we want to see favourite season and please remember to tell us why.

This fortnights sponsor

Favourite season, I love them all but I've gone with Autumn as I love the countryside at this time of year. Everything changing to reds, bronzes and yellows  and I do love cozying up on the sofa in front of a coal fire. My card for an Autumn welcome in your new home. Okay I have to admit I can't remember whose stamps the house and new home are from or the leaves, off the top of my head. The sun and dots stamp are Stamping Up. Tim Holtz distress inks and all stamped on cream linen card.

Short and sweet Im afraid feeling a bit blah as I type this so heading off to bed and hope tomorrow is a better day.

bye for now

Favourite Hobby

It's what's
 favourite hobby
 this time round over at
and please remember to tell us why in your link up.

We are sponsored by

My favourite hobby is crafting, now wasn't that a surprise lol! Like to dabble, making things other than cards and at the mo, my favourite is making brooches. Can make them just how I want them to look like and can match them to my outfits, ooo, have to make loads more then! So far I have made nine different ones, some for my friends.

I used felt with a percentage of wool in it. Flower dies used Tim Holtz big dies and the centre flower used a marianne spiral flower die. The back flower cut I used very fine type of burlap and to stop the edges fraying I used glue on the back of the petal edges to prevent this, dries clear.  Took a piece of lace, threaded the green twine through the holes along the top pulled together and tied in a bow. Made the pin and attached it and the brooch back pin before I glued it all together. Love this one, has a country vintage feel to it and looks like I will have to make another the same so I won't be sorry when its gone to a good home! - Anything Goes - Die cuts and or punches - Anything Goes - Anything Goes - Anything Goes with no optional twist

Spellbinder flowers
MME papers

First attempt at making a sort of shadow box, didn't quite turn out right, probably will have forgotten the pitfalls when I try again lol! I got the box idea off Pinterest so looks like I will have to go back there as I made this sometime ago and haven't a clue how I made the frame!

A very simple card from me, just plain black and white  cardstock, a piece of black velvet ribbon, Little B flower dies, Spellbinder edging dies and my chosen favourite Butterfly die.

Hope you will come over and show us your favourite Die and remember to tell us why when you link up.

Lace & Pearls

My DT card for our new challenge starting today over on As You Like It. The challenge is to use your two favourite embellishments and tell us why in your link up.

We are sponsored by

Im a romantic! Love lace and pearls on my wedding cards, chose this particular lace as its just so so pretty and simply, I love it.
Everything chosen for this card depicts the bride in lace, pearls and roses and the groom in Highland dress. The Kraft woven background gives a country, rustic feel which was part of the wedding theme.
Gawd, camera focus as bad as my eyesight, totally lost the plot focusing on my sentiment. Shame, looked perfect!

bye for now

Favourite Sport!

My DT card for As You Like It and this time we would love to see your Favourite Sport and tell us why in your link up.

Shape-EZ is sponsoring us this fortnight.

Ive gone with Martial Arts just because my gorgeous grandchildren are into it and they are fun to watch. This is a photo book made for Naomi to keep a record of her achievements another to make later for Robbie. Still to add sentiment but first I have to find my letter dies, seem to have mislaid them, hopefully not landed in the bin! Only had them last week but where o where did I put them lol!

Had used up my thick black card so glued three pieces of card together, two black with a pink card in the middle, made a strong cover. Added white card for adding the piccies and blinded it all with my Bind it All machine. Was time I gave it an airing!  The image is from Polkadoodles, coloured with Copics.

As You Like It Challenge

As You Like It has a new challenge starting today and this fortnight we challenge you to use your favourite book for inspiration and please tell us why.

Struggled with this one as I have been so busy this past couple of weeks tidying my house up. New loft floored so at long last my junk has a new home, Im so happy all my rooms are now junk free, worth all the pain and sweat that went into getting some normality at last,  hopefully cleaning will be a breeze from now on lol! Need to rest for a few days now so I can enjoy time with my son who is coming home from Australia to stay and work again in this country meantime!
Being a crafter I decided to take inspiration from my craft paper books, especially my minds eye. This one is called 'Sunshine', love the colours of the papers, makes me think of the country and perfect for my man card which didn't go just the way I thought it would! Not sure I like that tractor die cut, maybe if I had had more time I would have tried giving it black tyres, who knows! Ill probably get some stick for making it a checked one lol!

Our sponsor is Wild Orchid Crafts
