Lace & Pearls

My DT card for our new challenge starting today over on As You Like It. The challenge is to use your two favourite embellishments and tell us why in your link up.

We are sponsored by

Im a romantic! Love lace and pearls on my wedding cards, chose this particular lace as its just so so pretty and simply, I love it.
Everything chosen for this card depicts the bride in lace, pearls and roses and the groom in Highland dress. The Kraft woven background gives a country, rustic feel which was part of the wedding theme.
Gawd, camera focus as bad as my eyesight, totally lost the plot focusing on my sentiment. Shame, looked perfect!

bye for now

A new challenge starting today over on As You Like It and this time we would like to see you make a creation on the lines of your favourite fur or feather and please remember to tell us why in your link up.

Sweet Pea Stamps are sponsoring us this fortnight.

Having a couple of off days, so slow getting round to doing things, hence why Im late with my post today.
My card reflects the love of my fur babies and have chosen this Marianne dog die  as it reminded me of my Westie, Rory. Just adore him and him likewise adores me, has loads of attitude which always makes me laugh, a great companion.
Hope you find time to come and join us.

Favourite Sport!

My DT card for As You Like It and this time we would love to see your Favourite Sport and tell us why in your link up.

Shape-EZ is sponsoring us this fortnight.

Ive gone with Martial Arts just because my gorgeous grandchildren are into it and they are fun to watch. This is a photo book made for Naomi to keep a record of her achievements another to make later for Robbie. Still to add sentiment but first I have to find my letter dies, seem to have mislaid them, hopefully not landed in the bin! Only had them last week but where o where did I put them lol!

Had used up my thick black card so glued three pieces of card together, two black with a pink card in the middle, made a strong cover. Added white card for adding the piccies and blinded it all with my Bind it All machine. Was time I gave it an airing!  The image is from Polkadoodles, coloured with Copics.

As You Like It Challenge

As You Like It has a new challenge starting today and this fortnight we challenge you to use your favourite book for inspiration and please tell us why.

Struggled with this one as I have been so busy this past couple of weeks tidying my house up. New loft floored so at long last my junk has a new home, Im so happy all my rooms are now junk free, worth all the pain and sweat that went into getting some normality at last,  hopefully cleaning will be a breeze from now on lol! Need to rest for a few days now so I can enjoy time with my son who is coming home from Australia to stay and work again in this country meantime!
Being a crafter I decided to take inspiration from my craft paper books, especially my minds eye. This one is called 'Sunshine', love the colours of the papers, makes me think of the country and perfect for my man card which didn't go just the way I thought it would! Not sure I like that tractor die cut, maybe if I had had more time I would have tried giving it black tyres, who knows! Ill probably get some stick for making it a checked one lol!

Happy Ever After!

My time doesn't half fly between challenges! Just haven't had time to blog, funerals, trying to sort out my mums house, wedding cards and a few relapse days in-between. The house is still on going, be at it awhile, mum kept everything! Least the card pile has slowed down a bit now, I seem to take forever getting just one made!

Its the start of a new one over on
and this time round we would like to see
your favourite decade/peroid in your life (&why).
All details on the blog

Our sponsor
My Mums Craft Shop

Well, whats my favourite decade/period? Had to be along the lines of weddings as I have had four cards to make and just didn't have time to make a specific card but it was a very special time in my life. The 70's! I met my now hubby at the age of 15 years and married him when I was 19 years old and lived happily ever after, lol! Special memories, my mum made my dress and still have it packed away in a box. I was the apprentice, got all the tacking together to do which came in very handy when I started making my own clothes. And my card today reminds me of how I altered the remaining invites and made up my own wedding menus and thank you notes.

White linen/Cream linen card

As You Like It Challenge

New challenge today
 over on
this fortnight we would like to see your lovely creations of
your favourite
 Sea or Land.

We are sponsored by

This is my idea of heaven, been two years since we visited  The Western Isles off Scotland. Wasn't that keen to go when hubby suggested it but so glad I didn't persuade him otherwise. The beaches over there are just amazing. We were so lucky with the weather too. Better than any holiday Ive had abroad. Just couldn't believe I walked on several and not another sole to be seen, not even hubby! Left him snoozing in the car lol! Didn't want to leave this little piece of paradise but all good things come to an end. Hopefully go back again someday.

So of course my card is along the lines of the Sea. Find it so relaxing and lucky enough to live near several here in NE Scotland. We always have a Fish supper and finish of with an Ice-cream.

What's your favourite Embossing

A new challenge today over on As You Like It and we would like to see whats your favourite Dry or Wet Embossing on your cards and remember to tell us why when you link up.

We are sponsored by Crafty Sentiment Designs

My card was a last minute make as usual so dry embossing is the way to go for me on such occasions,  quick and  love how embossing folders give texture and with so many pretty designs out there for us to want, need! I also love how we can use our dies to just emboss a piece of card and create a card with it, which I have done in this case. Was supposed to be a quick card that turned out quite the opposite, when will I learn to stamp my sentiment first and not once I have my card finished.

Very simple card using a Memorybox die to emboss the card, then using same die cut it out in black and used one of the butterflies to add dimension.

April Showers!

Morning, sharing a card I made for a friends birthday. As always leave till the very last minute and shouldn't when colouring an image, must leave a note to oneself not to do that lol! I used a freebie from Aurora Wings over on their Facebook page and coloured her up with Copics. The splashing rain die is a Memorybox, branch leaves and the doily circle are Spellbinders and the Dragonflies is a hobby craft punch. Used linen card for the backing layers.
I am new to Copics and must remember to list my colours for future reference

The following piece was my final colouring for my Kit and Clowder Skin and Hair class. So pleased I passed. Was at it for ages trying this and that with it, looked at others for guidance but in the end I hid in a corner and did my own thing. What you were supposed to do in the beginning lol! Was amazed how I managed to map out her hairstyle on my own so lesson learn't! Believe in yourself, you can do it!

Lines or No Lines

A new challenge starting today over on As You Like It and this time round we would like to see Lines or No lines! Whats your favourite when it comes to colouring? Remember to tell us why.  Mines definitely Lines. No lines are such a strain on my eyes and some of the no line digital images are just too faint for me. I sometimes tone down a lined image because I think its a wee bit harsh but thats about it. I have used Colour me Wonderful  by Saturated Canary, had her for some time, always wanted to colour her up but all that hair, didn't know where to start! My colouring course has definitely given me confidence to colour images out of my comfort zone.

Decorated the front of my Colouring Journal using MME and ribbons

As You Like It Challenge

What's your favourite, Digi or rubber stamping? This is our new challenge over on As You Like It for the next fortnight.

We are sponsored by

When it comes to creating everything from scratch I do love my rubber stamps. Been sometime since I did anything like this mind you and made such a mess creating it lol!!  Love to rummage through what I've got (there sometime I can tell you ) as usually I hadn't got a clue where I was going, well I do have some idea but it usually grows from one specific item I want to use. This time I wanted to play with one of my many new dies I bought at the Hobbycrafts show in Glasgow this past weekend. As soon as I saw it I could see many ideas for all the shapes within the die. Stamps used mostly SU ones, the die is a Spellbinders. Used cream linen card 7x5 and inked the backing to get the right colour of green I wanted. Have just started using foam tape to attach layered card to base card for a better look, not that you can see that from the photo. Forgotten how much I love stamping and playing with inks. My problem is I love creating with most things, just can't keep up lol!

Hope you will join us and remember to tell us why when you link up.

A Simple Wallhanging

A new challenge starting over on As You Like It and this time round your favourite anything but a card.

We are sponsored by

My wee gift is a little wall hanging. Trying out my colouring skills, loved how the daisies turned out but need more practice on the leaves. Love making them to give away for no particular reason but to brighten up someones day, well I hope it does lol!  Make it Crafty Daisy image coloured with Copics. One of the Daisies is paper pieced as major surgery was needed after pen oozed out an orange blob lol! Forgot to take off both caps didn't I. Cut frame with Xcut dies and embossed with wood embossing folder. Cas was definitely on my mind for the daisy image and the lady receiving this doesn't like over the top creations so kept it very plain, says it all for me without any dressing up. Loved colouring it and look forward to doing it again in another colour.

Make it crafty Daisy digital image coloured with Copics.

One of a Kind

A card for a special lady who doesn't act her age and is very stylish so this image was just perfect for her.  So enjoyed making this card, loved the colours and really enjoyed colouring her up. Now thats what I call progress in my colouring course! I actually said I enjoyed colouring her up lol. I always left the image to last, colouring for me was a scary moment. Loads of practise still to be done, bad hair days still but its a journey Im not going to end till I get there! Im so grateful to The Sugar Nellie Blog for making this happen and to Alyce of Kit & Clowder and the lovely Facebook followers for all their encouragement and lovely comments.

Was having a bad hair day when I made this card. You learn to colour many different styles and it wasn't going well so put it aside and coloured up this cutie instead. So wanted to keep this for myself lol but she's gone to a good home.

Papers are MME

Cas or Fussy

Favourite Cas or Fussy
 this time round over

and remember to tell us why in your link up.

We are sponsored this fortnight by

Well I would have to say  its kinda fussy considering CAS usually is mostly as little amount of layers and embellishes as possible. Think this was plenty of fussy for this country wee cutie. Love layers of pretty papers and  embellishes that compliment my image and depends on the image how far I go dressing my card up.

Disdigitalstamp image coloured with Copics

Started out as a Birthday card and ended up with the sentiment You make my heart happy, flying out the door in my sons hand. Going to a good home. Used MME papers from two different sets layered onto chocolate brown card, Butterfly die cut and button to finish.
