Special Moments!

Gosh I'm blogging a card in between challenges lol! Having a break from diy, have ran out of supplies so another trip to Homebase. Starting to see an end to extension nightmare, can finally use the new back door, have a downstairs loo and my washing machine back inside new utility room. What a relief I can tell you after so much mess over the last three years. Maybe I can settle down soon and get crafting. Okay, my card for a young lady turning Thirteen, had completely forgot I bought Sugar Nellie stamps a couple of weeks ago, lucky I remembered as just perfect for my card. Stamp is called Best Friends and I coloured it with Promarkers/Flexmarkers, used Forever Friend papers and a few embellishments. Decorated inside to match.

Your Favourite Sentiment!

A new challenge once again starting over on As You Like It. Not sure where the time goes, so busy, well my kinda busy but it's good i can tell you. A new extention all coming together now, so relieved I can tell you! Will be three years this September since it was ready for the tradesmen to do their thing and what a nightmare but so happy it's just about there. I'm doing a bit of painting and after twenty years I have a downstairs loo Woo Hoo lol! A new Utility room that I wont break my neck in, I'm sure Hubby thought otherwise at times lol! Right, enough of my waffle, let's get down to telling you about our challenge.
This fortnight we would like to see you use your favourite Sentiment and tell us WHY when you link up.

We are sponsored by

Lee kindly gave us a couple of images to play about with and this is mine

I used Birthday Bear. Isn't he adorable, coloured him with Promarkers/Flexmarkers, Warm Greys and a Blue combo. Papers MME.My favourite sentiment is 'Just for You', some sentiments are just not for me, I don't do soppy! Most cards I make are for someone I know so I like to think they see a bit of them and me in it, makes it extra special!

Hope you find time to join us.

As You Like It Challenge

Today sees a new challenge starting over on As You Like It and this next fortnight we would like to see you use your favourite people or animal on your card and please remember to tell us why! Mmmmn, wasn't the choice that was bothering me, it was the colouring of the image. havent lifted a promarker since the end of last year! Oh no, all that shading and the light, where do I put the light lol!!! Thankfully it's got me colouring again, practise makes perfect they say so will be doing a lot of that hopefully to get back up to some reasonable quality.
Okay, one of my all time favourites is a Sugar Nellie stamp called Pippa Longsocks, she is just too cute in those socks and icing on the cake is the adorable wee frog at here feet. As soon as I seen here, she was perfect for my granddaughter who has been affectionally called the frogster since she was born and I love frogs too. Mmmmn, did I use this one last year for her birthday, im sure she will tell me!

As You Like It Challenge

\hello
Today sees the start of a new challenge over on As You Like It and this fortnight we wou8ld like to see your creations using your favourite die and tell us why in your link up.

Our sponsor this time is Care2stamp

A tall order I think with most of us, deciding which is our favourite. I have many favourites but have chosen a Joanna Sheen die, as soon as I seen it I hd to have lol! Could see many uses for it. Love the scrolls and instead of having the heart can see me using flowers, butterflies and sentiments instead. Love things I can adapt, makes it a die worth having in your collection.

For this card, I decided to emboss the card using the die instead of cutting it out. I then cut a further one using home made glitter card (glue and Glamour dust) and using only the heart piece
layered it onto the embossed one. Pretty simple card, getting to like making CAS cards more and more.

Oh Dear, late again posting! A day out yesterday with a friend in Aberdeen, shopping. Wacked today but worth it.
Hope you will join us.

Love embossing folders, love the texture and depth they give to a card, there are so many out there to choose from and can find one in your collection to suit whatever occasion your card is for.

Chose a heart die for Sentiment embossed with Gold embossing powder, Cream and White Linen card, Flourish and die cut Roses. The base card I made using large scalloped die cuts from Jus Cutz.
Gosh, that was a bit dodgy! Typing having just painted my nails and doing this inbetween layers lol!! Just checked them, alls well no squashy bits!

Hope you come over and share your lovely creations with us and check out what my lovely team mates have created.

Lets hope I can improve on my one a fortnight card! And maybe for once I will be on time with this post!

As You Like It Challenge

A new challenge starting today
 over on
 and this fortnight
we would like to see your creations
 using your
 favourite colour combo
and tell us why in you link up.

We are sponsored this time round
by

My favourite colour combo has to be Blue and Cream. Loved it since I was  a child. Why I'm not really sure, I can only say I'm always been drawn to it when buying anything from clothes to things for the home. Okay, I have made a few things now with these gorgeous papers from Papermania, so me and so love them. I have revamped a rather grotty looking notelet drawer box that has been lying around for some years waiting to be updated and so pleased with the result.

This is the before

Painted it first with Acrylic paint and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz inks  and then the fun part began!

The buttons for drawer knobs

Papermania Parisean Blue all ready to distress, mat and layer/

And this is the after.

The top  is decorated with a doily, cream lace, think it's a Memory box die and the Butterfly is Spellbinders. Finished off with K&Co pearl brads and metal corners

The drawers I added a Memory Box die flower flourish and pearls. The drawer knobs I glued two buttons together, painted with the acrylic paint, using a circle punch, cut a circle from the patterned paper, glued to button knob then inked with clear embossing ink and dipped in clear embossing powder, heated and repeated several times to glaze the button knob. Then glued in place on each drawer.

As You Like It Chalenge/Favourite Recycle

Maybe should try recycling myself, might get it right lol!!

As You Like It Challenge

My it's been awhile, can't believe how the time has gone since I last posted . I went into hospital early, a cancellation came up and I took it. A few glitches along the way but fully recovered  now. A bit disappointed with how I feel, was hoping it was going to make me feel so much better but Fibromyalgia  has been lingering in background for sometime and has got worse since my op. Mr mojo decided to take a holiday and wasn't getting anywhere but a big tidy up and a few play a rounds iI decided enough is enough! Craft room back in a mess and things are happening lol!
Have made this little wall hanger for the As You Like It challenge. A day late posting mine.
This fortnight we would like to see some recycling on your creation and remeber to tell us why it's your favourite. Pop over to see what we did and check out this fortnights prize.

I keep lots of odds and ends for recycling, a habit I started years ago when I was a play leader at my local school. My creation today has a bit of a twist to it, I had some sacking I bought years ago to make a keepsake rug of my children's clothes that never got finished I might add, some day might get round to it. The piece left over didn't actually look right for what I wanted to make so photographed it and printed it out, perfect. The string came from a clothes tag, you get some really good ones that can be altered in some way and the rose was lying about , left over from another project awhile back. Looked out loads of papers I wouldn't uses as backing on my cards and have used them to make flowers.

Be back later, see if there's a challenge or two I can play along with.and maybe a few piccies of what Ive been up to in my craft room!

As You Like It Challenge

Time for a new challenge over at

As You Like It Challenge

This fortnight's challenge theme is to showcase a project using
an Inspirational Object (& why).
Instead of explaining why it's your favourite like we usually ask, in order to qualify for the prize, please include a photo of your inspirational object so that we can see what's inspired you.

Lay in my bed thinking about this one! What was I going to make. Mmmmn, well I love blue and white china and love candles so this is what I came up with.

Had bought this that very day and thought I could make a candle holder so it would reflect the light the same as this one, not that the camera showed up the reflection. Thanks for that!

Have had a passion for blue and white china for years. Most of this is Burleigh Calico, one of my favourites.

The papers are Docrafts Parisienne Blue, so loving these, yep, third creation of late. Used a Spellbinder large circle for the base then layered with a Dienamics I think! The Butterflies are Memorybox.

Recycled a small glass tumbler, wrapped round a Spellbinder die cut, glued edge of papers and finished with a ribbon round the bottom. I then added frosted stickles round lip of glass.

All lit up!

As You Like It Challenge

Hello everyone, here to showcase my DT card for

 and this fortnight it's
 Show us your

 Favourite Style and WHY

We are sponsored by

My favourite style, have a few but I do love playing with pretty papers, right down to the making of the flowers. The papers are Docrafts Papermania Parisiene Blue. So much my style, loving them so much, dare i say! Three paper pads so far lol!!. The flower die is a Cheery Lyn, curved the petals in and out and added pearl buttons to center. The Flourish is a Impressions Ovsessions heart flourish, the heart is hidden in this case. Love dies that are versatile, can think of many ways to use this on cards to come.

Love cute images and this one just perfect for my vintage style I think. Coloured in my favourite colours using my favourite pens Promarkers. Inked the background with TH Antique Linen and stippled with Old Paper.

And the finished article. Really pleased with the end result. Not to over the top, can still see lots of those yummy papers, hate hiding them!

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall!

Afternoon to everyone , making a rare appearance, have actually made something. Bought these yummy Docraft papers called Parisiene Blue at Christmas, have looked and looked at these ever since and eventually played lol! So my colours and designs, just wish I could find wallpaper like it, perfect for my bedroom. Saying that I bought bedroom wallpaper and it's still in the box, oh dear!  So do not like it now so on the hunt for more.
Okay, have made a wreath framed mirror. Bought the mirrors in a pack of three for a couple of pounds in the local hardware shop and the wreath from my local craft shop.

The large circles are cut with Spellbinders A4 dies and the main backing I used a dinner plate for a template. The Rosettes are Spellbinders, the Roses and Butterflies , Memory Box and the Ivy leaf die from Joanna Sheen. The Lace is part of the docrafts Perisiene collectioon.
